First look at #FunktionCI

Please enjoy the first look at our recently photographed project called #Funktion. It’s an en-suite bathroom transformed from builder-grade blah into sleek, functional bliss and a dash of funk thrown in for good measure.

This couple’s home was brand new, but the primary en-suite bathroom was poorly executed. The 36″ wide doors bumped into one another and the shower’s built in bench did nothing to maximize the small foot print. Furthermore, there was not enough functional storage for the homeowners. Here are the before photos.

Here’s how Contented Interiors re-designed the space, with renovation work carried out by HomeLink America. Enjoy the after photos!

Swapped the original 36″ entry door for a set of french doors with frosted glass pabels to allow some natural light from the bedroom to enter the windowless bathroom.
Removed another 36″ wide door to the water closet to improve flow and visually open the space.
Lowered the toilet area’s ceiling to 8′ to create a cozier feeling.
Opened up one of the shower walls to see beyond and further expand the feeling of space in the shower.
Extended the shower’s depth toward the vanity to physically add more space.
Removed the shower bench to physically add more foot space.
Added a custom linen closet cabinet to the right of the new vanity to provide tons of product storage.
Added a heated towel bar and heated tile floors to keep everyone extra toasty in the colder months.
And of course, all new tile, paint, and fixtures.
